Finding Physical Healing

One of life’s greatest challenges is facing illness. When you are sick, your number one priority is to get well again.  Nothing else matters. Unfortunately, healing illness is not always easy.

Many people look for alternative ways to cure sickness when medical science fails them. Holistic health businesses offering herbal cures are thriving.  People often hunt for a spiritual healer, who can somehow tap into the powers of the universe.  Often, instead of spiritual healing, they usually find that their sickness is untouched, their bank accounts are empty and their spiritual life is destroyed.

Is there someone who can heal the sick? Is there someone who can offer divine healing? Yes! Perhaps you have heard the phrase: “Jesus Heals.” Jesus is the Great Physician. He can offer you physical healing.  More than that, He can heal the soul

If you are ill, you can ask Christians to pray for healingHealing prayer does not depend on the person praying, but the One who answers prayer, God. Jesus offers more than just healing.  He promises the forgiveness we need for the wrongs we have done.  He offers you the chance for a new beginning. Your prayer for healing can also become your opportunity to begin life with God.

You want to be healed. You want a cure for sickness. Jesus spent his entire ministry offering hope and curing sickness.   His Word, the Bible, requires His church to pray for the sick.  You can go to Him with boldness.

If you want Christ to heal you, ask Him.  You can begin like this: “Dear Jesus. I am sick. I need Your help to recover. Please heal me. I am sorry for the wrongs I have done. I need You to forgive me and give me a new start. I ask You to be Lord and Savior of my life. Lord Jesus, I know that faith and healing often go together, so please help me to believe that You have heard my prayer and will send healing my way. In Jesus’ name. Amen!”

Curing Sickness

If you are sick today, you probably want to get well more than anything else in the world.  People spend their entire lives looking for a cure for sickness.   Sometimes, people known as “spiritual healers” take advantage of those who are ill, offering expensive herbal cures that really can’t work. Holistic health has its place, but it isn’t a cure-all.

Healing illness is not an easy thing to do.  Often, the things that cause our sicknesses adapt quickly and seem to stay one step ahead of the doctors. Still, we want to be healed. If you are ill, please take hope. Physical healing is possible!

Christians believe that Jesus heals too!  The Bible calls Jesus “the Great Physician.” The Bible often associates faith and healing.  In the New Testament, we are commanded to pray for the sick.  Jesus told us that we were to pray with great expectation. If so, we would see the sick recover.

It is important to understand that God is just as concerned with spiritual healing as He is physical healing.  What good would it do to cure sickness and not heal the soul?  Healing prayer depends on a relationship with God.  Without that relationship, we lack the faith to believe for healing.  Knowing God increases faith and allows us to experience divine healing, not because we are faithful, but because God is faithful to us.

If you are sick, be bold. Pray for healing.  It might be difficult for man to cure sickness, but God can heal the body and heal the soul

Faith That Heals Illness

Stories fill the headlines each day of people seeking physical healing who are deceived by some “spiritual healer.” Because they needed a cure for sickness, they sought help from those who promised but couldn’t bring healing. Does that mean that there is no effective prayer for healing or that there is no hope for curing sickness? No, Jesus heals!

Those who believe in herbal cures and holistic health techniques often exclude godly faith from their treatment.  They believe that man has no outside help. We must find our own means to cure sickness. Such people ignore the evidence that faith and healing go hand in hand.

The Bible teaches us that God is the great physician.  If encourages us to pray for healing.  Jesus spent a great deal of his time healing those who asked. He also sent out his disciples with a command that they pray for the sick.  It is no surprise that healing prayer often brings not only a physical but a spiritual healing.  It would be pointless to cure the body if you could not heal the soul as well.

If you are ill today, I encourage you to pray to Jesus for healing.  He knows your need and is ready to answer you.  If you do not know Jesus, the first step is to pray that God will forgive you for the wrongs you have done and accept you as His own.

You might pray a prayer like this:

“Dear God, I am sorry for the wrongs I have done. I know that you offer me forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Please accept me as your child.  You also know that I am sick.  I have tried everything to get well, but I do not know how to overcome this.  Please heal me in the name of Jesus. I believe it is because Jesus suffered that I am able to be healed.  In Jesus’ name, Amen!”

If you prayed that prayer, do not be surprised when healing comes.  God loves you and is willing to give you the healing you need.

Facing Illness

There is nothing in this world that can devastate our lives quite like an illness. Everyone I have talked had to deal with illness in their lives at some point.

Friends of mine have twin boys that were born prematurely. One son had seizures all the time. They spent time, money, and energy looking for a cure for his sickness.  Amazingly the healing that has occurred is a combination of Spiritual healing, holistic health methods, and doctor treatments.

Every time I look at their little boy, I realize what a miracle happened. It reminds me how faithful God is to provide healing.  Even though I know that God does not provide healing the same way to every person, I will always remember that He is the great Healer.

When we turn to God as the source of our healing we can know with certainty that He will provide.  Healing comes in many different forms. For my friends, it came in many different forms and as of yet is not complete.  Even now I believe for continued healing for their son as there is still pressure building on his brain.

Each week his parents post an update on Facebook. Every week, they highlight yet another accomplishment that Luke made. Now at two and half years old, he is making great progress.  He is able to walk and that is something they never were sure he would be able to do. God our healer is amazing.

Healing the Body and the Soul

If you or a loved one is sick, you’ve probably taken quite an interest in holistic health. Healing illness might be your top priority, but don’t overlook a deeper issue. It might just be that you need a spiritual healer as much as a physical solution to your problem.

Spiritual healing was always a part of Jesus’ ministry. When people came to him, they often left with both a physical healing and a spiritual healing. The wrongs we have done didn’t necessarily cause our suffering but they might make our healing more difficult. When Jesus heals, he not only cures sickness, He heals our spiritual issues as well.

Christians believe in healing prayer. We often include prayer for healing in our church services. We believe in divine healing as well as physical healing. Jesus not only healed in Bible days, He heals today!
There is hope! You can believe Jesus for physical healing, but be prepared for Him to offer you spiritual healing as well. He gives us not only what we ask for, but also what we need.

What if your healing doesn’t come? Remember that our physical bodies are only going to live for a short time, but our souls live on forever. The suffering you face now is temporary, but His forgiveness lasts for an eternity.

So, if you need physical healing, ask God for it. If you need spiritual healing because life’s battles have taken their toll on you, ask Him to restore your soul too!

The Secret to Mending a Broken Heart

I really enjoy connecting with friends on Facebook. I am not talking about those who ask to be your “Friend” and you don’t have a clue in the world as to who they are. I mean friends from the early years, friends through the years, and friends today. I am glad to read of the victories and joys of my friends such as graduations, marriages, children, promotions, and the like. At the same time, I am saddened deeply to read of the broken dreams and the broken heart of my friends due ton illness, death, divorce, and even the consequences of bad decisions.

I can definitely relate with my friends’ joys and brokenness! Like you, I have had my seasons of victory and times when my heart was broken. Strangely, we feel that the good times are our inalienable right and we never, under any circumstance, deserve the bad times. The fact is that life is filled with good and bad! That’s the reality our daily walk.

The truth test of our character during life’s journey is found not in the good seasons of life but rather during the seasons of trials and, especially during the seasons of brokenness. To whom, or to what, do you turn to find peace and joy in the midst of these character-testing seasons? My testimony is that the secret to mending a broken heart is to turn to Jesus Christ and allow Him to bring healing.

Jesus understands the ebb and flow of life. He is there for you when you are on the mountain top rejoicing and, even more importantly, He is there for you in your defeats. He remains with you during your isolation and long after your disappointment, your failure, and the betrayal of the one that you trusted. It is my experience that He alone can take your brokenness and make your whole again.

I share this with you because you are my friend and Jesus is my friend. My prayer is that you two will connect and be friends as well.
